The official Mississippi flag was redesigned and approved through a state referendum on November 3, 2020. It was later passed by the state legislature on January 6, 2021, and officially adopted as the state flag on January 11, 2021. This new flag features a white magnolia blossom on a red background. The words “In God We Trust” appear below the magnolia blossom, with a gold border surrounding it and blue sides.
