The Turkmenistan Flag replaced the Soviet-era flag, which had a red background with two light blue bars in the middle.
The Turkmenistan Flag, introduced on 27 September 1992, is a beautiful symbol of the country’s history and culture. It features a green field representing Turkmenistan’s renowned carpet industry. On this field, you can see a white crescent representing Islam, and five stars representing the country’s five regions and the Five Pillars of Islam. The flag replaced the Soviet-era flag, which had a red background with two light blue bars in the middle. Turkmenistan celebrates State Flag and Constitution Day on 18 May.
